Collaborations

We are committed to building resilient communities through sustainable practices, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in a healthy and supportive environment.

Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Gardening Training at Mamelodi Children’s Home

In Mamelodi, we have partnered with the local Children’s Home organisation to educate young minds about environmental conservation and sustainable gardening. Through interactive workshops and training sessions, children learn the importance of protecting their environment and the benefits of growing their own food. This program aims to instill a sense of responsibility and connection to nature in the younger generation, ensuring that they grow up with a deep respect for the environment.

From Waste to Harvest: Organic Waste Composting for Sustainable Vegetable Cultivation

In a bid to promote sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship, MGDI and Myezo Environmental Management Services have launched the “From Waste to Harvest” initiative. This program focuses on transforming organic waste into rich compost, which is then used to cultivate sustainable vegetable gardens. The project not only addresses waste management but also provides communities with a reliable source of fresh, organic produce. Through hands-on training, community members learn the process of composting and sustainable gardening, thereby empowering them to become self-sufficient and environmentally conscious.

By promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices, we aim to protect our planet for future generations, encouraging everyone to play their part in conservation.

Arbor Day Contributions: Greening Our Communities

In 2023, Myezo Environmental Management Services, in collaboration with a Primary School in Pretoria and with the support of the City of Tshwane Ward Councillor, marked Arbor Day by planting trees across the school premises. This initiative was part of our ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and create green spaces within urban areas. The trees planted will not only enhance the beauty of the school environment but also contribute to cleaner air and a healthier ecosystem for the students and the surrounding community.

National Science Week: Inspiring Future Scientists

As part of the National Science Week initiative led by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), MGDI and Myezo Environmental Management Services (Myezo), in partnership with SACNASP, played a pivotal role in raising science awareness among schoolchildren in Gauteng. During this week, Tumelo, an MSc graduate and participant in the DSI mentorship program hosted by Myezo, engaged with students in various activities designed to spark their interest in science. The sessions were highly interactive, providing students with hands-on experiences that encouraged them to explore the fascinating world of science.

Environmental Projects: Preserving Heritage and Biodiversity

In collaboration with the National Heritage Council, MGDI is committed to preserving South Africa’s indigenous languages and promoting awareness of the crucial role that the environment and biodiversity play in our heritage. This project focuses on the intersection of culture, language, and environmental conservation, recognizing that our natural surroundings are deeply tied to our national identity. By investing in national culture, heritage, and social cohesion, we aim to foster a sense of pride and responsibility towards protecting our environment for future generations.
